Fear keeps so many people stuck in a place that bothers their peace. According to 2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. In the times we are living now, it is important to find our place of peace. Here are five steps that can assist you into moving forward.
Think about the changes that will come about when you succeed. Success, like peace, has to be measured by your standards not another person’s standard. Success should bring a sense of peace.
Do something nice for someone else. Praying for someone else’s need to put your spirit at a higher level.
Think about how you will become more empowered and what it means. Empowerment takes away the fear
Look to GOD as your source and you just fulfill His will. GOD is in control allow Him to lead
Visual the fear under your feet and how it will elevate you. Everything you conquer takes you a higher level.
4 Essential Oils
If you are a fan of diffusers, here is a list of 4 essential oils that help curb the feeling of fear and anxiety.
Frankincense – the ‘king of oils’ to uplift your spirit
Juniper Berry – helps cleanse and purify the air while creating a grounding environment
Bergamot – calming and uplifting abilities
Wild Orange – uplifting, energizing aroma
Allow your diffuser to run as it fills the air with peace. Breathe in the fresh fragrances of our Heavenly Father. These fragrances are the gift of the earth from GOD. Ask Him to take away your fears and bring you His Peace.
Breathing in odors causes signals to be immediately registered by the brain. The brain sends a signal to the nerves, the cells, the muscles, and the emotions. We will demonstrate this by playing a memory jogger game. Try to remember the last time you were by an open sewer or ran across a skunk that left its scent, or even a dead caucus. What were your reactions, once you realized the smell was not pleasing at all?
You probably tensed up your face or body
An immediately a need to hold your breath
Feelings of your blood getting warmer and your body more tensed, and experiencing a faster heartbeat
The longer the smell lingered the more you became agitated
You longed for the ability to breathe freely again
The gradual progression of the above steps caused an emotion to form, one probably on the negative side, like stress. Feelings of wanting to flee
Let us look at another scenario. Remember your favorite dish, or the scent of someone you love, or being in a room with a pleasant aroma. Again, what were your reactions to the sense of smell that was pleasing to the brain?
It probably caused you to smile
A sense of longing, a pleasant desire
It might cause a steady breathing pattern
The more breaths you took in the more relaxed you felt
Emotions are formed joy, happiness, warmth, gladness. Positive feeling is released
This pleasing aroma causes the brain to either create a new memory or resurface an old memory that stimulated the body to have a sense of peace and security.
Too Much Stress is not Good
Small levels of stress can be beneficial. Minimal stress levels can cause decisions to be made. It can cause an action to be taken for a more desirable outcome. Low stress can be a positive challenge. Too much stress can make life to be unbalanced, sick, and depressed. Stress indicates something not right. When stress is ignored, there can be damage to you emotionally, physically, and mentally.
Stress has definitely plagued this century. Stress has been around since the fall in the Garden of Eden. Adam & Eve suffered through stress. There could probably be a great debate on which era experienced more stress. Generations prior did not have the medicines we have today. Ancient day therapists, counselors were probably not as knowledgable as we are today. They had to utilize “primitive” ways to combat stress. I say “primitive” because modern science associates many natural things as “primitive”. We may call them primitive but I believe they had a longer life span that we do with all our advancement.
Let me stay on track. In Ancient days, people learned to live off the land, utilizing things available from nature. GOD has given them and us, flowers, tree barks, and leaves, seeds, shrubbery, for medicinal purposes and other uses. Even in this century we still use flowers, tree barks but in a more adultered way. We use them in the forms of essential oils and herbs. Modern essential oils come in varying grades. These grades range from the purity of the oil to the adulterated oil. The Essential Oils can be found in medicine and uses ranging from cosmetic to household products.
Essential Oils date back to the biblical-era as the significant forms of medicine, healing, and beauty regiments. Today they are considered as alternative medicine, aiding in medicine, additives to our everyday products. These Essential Oils are still beneficial to us. Our focus will be on the Bergamot Essential Oil and how its aides in Reducing Stress. Before we discuss Bergamot, I must make a note to the readers. Please be aware essential oil manufacturers vary in the degree of purity of oils produced. I am not a doctor, and I am not giving any medical advice. Also please note not all essential oils can be used internally or even topically. Please check with the manufacturer’s instructions.
If you are looking for a natural and aromatic experience to help you wind down after a stressful day. Bergamot should be one of your go-to Essential Oils. Bergamot is citrus, spice, with a light floral note. It is known for its calming and uplifting abilities. Helpful for those with anxiety. It also provides skin cleansing and purifying benefits. Italians were known to use Bergamot oils for years to reduce feelings of stress and to soothe and rejuvenate the skin, while the Greeks used it as sweetmeats, eaten by the spoonful as a dessert or with coffee.
The diffuser is one of the safest and most cost-efficient ways to relax and increase positive feelings. The inhalation of essential oils can be accomplished by using a diffuser. Diffusers can be placed in the various rooms in your living space, as well as workplaces, and classrooms. Diffusers can come small enough to be used in automobiles to help with road rage.
Before I continue with the other methods of use of Bergamot, I must let you know I am a doTerra Certified Essential Oil Specialist Wellness Advocate. I am affiliated with doTerra Essential Oils. doTerra is one of the top leading companies in this industry. At the time of writing this article, doTerra Bergamot Essential Oils suggested uses of Bergamot are as follows:
Internal use with a method of dilution of liquids
Tropical which is applying to the skin along with a carrier oil.
GOD has given us many natural ways to combat stress in our lives. Our Heavenly Father desires that we live a life of joy. However, stress tends to decrease that quality of life. The effects of stress can show up in weight gain/ loss, joint discomfort, headache, and ailments.
Low impact exercises are a great way to reduce stress. Low impact exercise is best in helping to level the cortisol and it does not cause the heart to be over-excited. Try diffusing some Bergamot while exercising to calm your nerves. Eliminate high-stress levels for a healthier lifestyle.
Bergamot has many other health benefits. It assists in a healthy digestive system, emotional balance, and healthier-looking skin. For more added benefits Bergamot can be blended with other doTerra Essential Oils. Bergamot is photosensitive. Caution should be used when applying to areas of the skin exposed to direct sunlight.

Tomorrow is never Promised. This is the first year I will not have my dad for Father’s Day. Wow, we know, it’s a day we must all face, however it is a feeling you just can’t explain. Depending on the type of relationship, it probably leaves a bit of emptiness. I have a friend whose relationship was not good with her father. When he passed, unfortunately, she was not able to satisfactory make amends. Now, she lives with this added scar.
When your Hero is gone
I woke up this morning and heard write a tribute to fathers. Like I stated earlier, my dad has gone to be with the LORD. It just reminds me of how important a man he was in my life. As kids, we developed an image of what a father should emulate. However, no father is perfect, I think mothers get more of a pass on that than fathers. We expect them to walk in perfection. As kids when we looked up at them, they seem to be like a giant. A giant defeating anything bad that came across their path.
I think as we grow older, we still hold on to that image that our Fathers are giants that cannot fail. We idolize them, make them larger than life. A large than life image that many cannot live up to. We become disappointed. Having feelings of rejection, because this man, the man we call father, no longer lives up to our expectations.
This idolatry begins to damage our relationship with our fathers and eventually cascades into impeding ourselves. We have thoughts of, why must he be this way, why cannot he change. We look at friends’ father or tv dad and say why cannot he be like that or wishing he were more like so and so. Not even taken into consideration the person we may admire also has flaws that we have no privy.
He is a part of you
This child-like image we have engrained in our minds, we must let go. See your dad for who he is, appreciate what he has to offer. I know some are reading this and saying well my dad was not in my life as a child, I can only imagine how you feel. Others may say, you do not know the hell he put us through, or some say he is an S.O.B. that I sympathize with you.
Remember, that you are a spirit being, and part of you is him. You cannot escape that fact he is a part of you. When you hold anger, bitterness toward him, you are attacking a part that is inside of you. A part that silently but vigorously rips you apart from the inside out. This battle causes you to be on the extreme ends of the spectrum, never having a balance. Being off balance causes you to fight for peace and a false sense of peace might I add.
I believe as we near the end of our life, we begin to have many regrets, and fathers are not immune to these regrets. I remember talking to friends who work in some type of nursing home or health care dealing with the elderly, they tell me how many of these fathers only see their children on the holidays. As their journey begins to dim, their hearts bleed, some have guilt and shame for what they have or did not do. Permit them to be released from that.
Make a Change
This Father’s Day, if you are not speaking to your father, find it in your heart to reach out. Think of it this way, when you begin to heal your heart, maybe your spirit may touch him for his to be healed so that he can become a better person. Many times, we as kids do not know what our father’s upbringing was to make him turn out the way he is. Forgiveness not only heals you but him and it stops that cycle from being repeated in the generations to come. Your father DNA is part of you, and you are a part of your children’s DNA.
If you still cannot do it for him, do it for your children. They are watching your every move. Tomorrow is never promised. A time may come where it will be almost impossible to heal the scar.
You know I got to help my father transition into the afterlife, and I did not even know he was ill. He had my mom call me to ask for me to say a prayer. The prayer GOD had me say was very intense, that I had to call my pastor. It was about four hours later I get the heart-stopping call he was gone. I was used to talking to my dad a few times a week. Being able to assist daddy in transitioning peacefully was one of the best gifts I could have because I was not there with him physically.
Your father cannot change or heal your past, that my dear is something you have the power to do, be healed from your past. So, take the time to heal your heart, to forgive, and move beyond the pain. There is something good in all of us even your dad. You are a child of GOD and he is a child of GOD. I hope this helped someone begin the healing process.
Definition of breakthrough– warfare: an offensive military assault that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line, an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle, a sudden advance especially in knowledge or technique.
Definition of blessing – special favor, mercy, or benefit; a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness.
If you are like me you have been unsuccessfully praying for financial blessing for years. We get spurts of increase in the money we normally have. However within a month or even that week we are having to ask for another blessing. That seemed to be the cycle of our life. Why can we not receive a blessing that would take us into a life of abundance? I desire a life of not having to pinch pennies.
As we look at the above definition of a blessing it refers to a gift bestowed by GOD thereby bringing happiness. Why can we not have happiness in our finances? After all there were many people in the bible who obtained godly wealth: Joseph, Moses, Abraham, Solomon, the woman with the oil, the proverbs 31 woman, just to name a few. I’m sure you know people who have received blessings that change their life or their position in life? What makes them different from us.
My Current state
To let you know my current situation. A believer without a place to call my own I had to live with someone, I had to give up my transportation, and I was unemployed, and no form of income. Countless times I had declared 2 Corinthians 9:8, in Psalm 23:5. The Word talks about GOD preparing a table before us in the presence of our enemies. I believed those scriptures but I didn’t understand why it was not manifesting for me.
It was mid -May of this year, after crying out to the LORD once again, when I finally listened and heard His response. GOD response to me was, the blessings are already available. I sought GOD for clarification. He informed me what I first needed was a financial breakthrough. Financial Breakthrough and Financial blessing, I thought were the same. I had to look up the definition of a breakthrough. The definition of breakthrough states it is an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle. The Father explained there were obstacles that I needed to address in order for the blessings to manifest.
I learned these obstacles permitted the enemy to win a temporary stay in a case against me. Surprisingly enough it was not the enemy sole doing but it was the unintentional permission I had granted to the enemy. This allowed my financial blessings placed on lockdown.
At this point, I had changed focus, I had to be aligned with what GOD was showing me about the obstacles. I had to be willing to go through His process to receive His promises. We can’t operate in GOD based on traditions but we must be willing and patient to hear from Him. I inquired what obstacles He was referring to.
His response to me was your actions, words, and thoughts are the evidence that the enemy has brought before the courts. He has won a temporary withholding on your financial blessings. This is the part where we stop praying for what we want. Its time to pray for understanding in the things GOD is trying to improve, move, or change us.
What Started it All
Let me back up a bit, I was upset and angry that my current financial situation had not changed for close to two years now. So I decided to recorded playlist videos. Videos called Waiting on GOD for a Financial Breakthrough, I wasn’t wanting a breakthrough I was wanting a blessing. To be honest I did these videos to test GOD, to force Him to change my financial situation.
After the first video of the group, I heard GOD say, Shame, Bola you walk in shame. It puzzled me. GOD explained walking in shame in not walking in who He has called us to be, this makes me off alignment. I began to understand that was one piece of evidence used against me. It was time for me to allow GOD to deliver me and heal me from shame. By the way, shame is found in Genesis in the garden when Adam & Eve hid and covered up.
As we were working out shame in me, it was revealed about poverty mindset, pride & insecurity were some of the other obstacles that I needed deliverance and healing. My prayers changed. From prayers asking for blessings to asking GOD to reveal the areas in my life that needed to be broken and changed.
Breakthrough strives to reject things designed to keep from walking in the fullness of who you are in GOD. GOD desire that we maintain, and prosper in His gifts/blessings. He has called us blessed to be a blessing. How can we be true blessings to others when we walk in doubt, fear, and lack?
Now I realize what the enemy was using to make me experience disappointment and pain. GOD is using this time to strengthen me, to empower me, and speak with boldness. What GOD gives us He doesn’t want the enemy to easily snatch away.
The breakthrough must come first so that His blessing can flow abundantly. Someone who continuously gets a flow of blessings, normally there was a season of breakthrough they underwent. I am willing, are you willing to go through the financial breakthrough process. Do want to get a flow of blessings or to have sporadic blessings!
In this process, GOD downloaded a product called Financial Breakthrough Prayer Cards He had me created. These cards address some of the behaviors that keep us from financial blessings. GOD is in the blessing business but are we ready to receive and stand for Him. Is what you are desiring aligned with His will to advance His Kingdom and give Him glory.
A meltdown is a reaction to feeling overwhelmed, trying to process too much sensory input all at once. This differs from temper tantrums defined as disruptive behaviors or emotional outbursts that involve physical acts or screaming. Meltdowns are indications you are not aligned with your core. You are off-center and balance. You are at the point of feeling out of control.
According to the oxford dictionary, control is defined as the power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events. Many circumstances in life remind us that control does not belong to us. What belongs to us is the ability to align and balance our core.
Acknowledge your stress due to this epidemic
Understand people process stress differently – don’t compare yourself or anyone else
Begin to journal your thoughts – encourage your children to do the same
Try to keep yourself occupied with activities
Realize you are not alone
As Christians GOD is not trying to make us prove our faith to Him, He already knows our faith level.
Begin to realign and center yourself back to your core
Try not to prolong the state of stress because It is a human instinct to have feelings of stress. Hiding or denying feelings of stress can cause serious effects on the body. Stress can alter blood pressure, breathing speeds up, the digestive system slows down, immune actives decrease, tense muscles, less sleep. All these have an impact on the health of the body. Acknowledging stress gives the ability to identify stress influencers.
Place limits – Though being informed is vital, but do not be consumed with minute by minute reporting if it is not mandated.
Body Talk – pay attention to the signal the body is relaying. It is important to remain in the healthiest condition.
Don’t ignore feelings – disregarding the emotions can lead to poor decisions and reactions to situations. Ignoring can also lead to illnesses such as depression.
Talk to someone with a better outlook on this situation.
Seek professional help – Religious leaders, counselors, etc
Different Stress Tolerance
We are all wired differently. Some of these differences include: Some have a high tolerance level; others may have a more precise decision-making mechanism; while others have more empathy for a situation; others still have such an acute sense of the “bigger picture”. Comparing stress level benefits no one, everyone has their area of weakness and strengths. Remember everyone has their tolerance level. Fretting about this can cause extra stress.
Writing your thoughts on paper helps clear the mind and allows for an analysis of thoughts. It allows for problem-solving and not focus on the problem. Journaling help declutter the mind and emotions.
Find activities that are joyous and keep from focusing on the issue. Family time, reading a good book, complete that project, just to name a few. Get to know yourself and your family more.
A worldwide pandemic, many people are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as you. You are not alone. Think of ways to unite ourselves over the internet or phone. Don’t feel it is a problem that can be solved alone. Be thankful for what is available and things of others who have less.
Is GOD testing you
I feel that GOD is not asking us to prove our faith or trust in Him. Ignoring the government warnings and precautions only put more at risk. We put our trust in Him that He will see us through as His words declare “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV).
Evaluate your life, your time, & your perception. Begin to put things in the correct perspective that gives you inner peace.
Exposing & Evicting Shame is necessary for peace, clarity, and joy. Shame is an unpleasant self-conscious emotion typically associated with a negative evaluation of the self, withdrawal motivations and feeling of distress, exposures, mistrust, powerless, and worthlessness. Shame as defined by Wikipedia. An article in Psychology Today, defines shame: A concealed, contagious, and dangerous emotion. The article further goes on to say it is an internal state of inadequacy, dishonor, or regret. Shame can be brought on by what others or circumstances say about or do to us. Circumstance and what others say is one part, the other culprit is coping internally with failure. Guilt is not the same as Shame. Guilt is an emotional experience that results from a wrongdoing or action taken. Shame is attached to a person’s identity and guilt is attached to a person’s actions.
Most of us are no strangers to shame in one form or another. This emotion of shame is very destructive and demeaning to the esteem. Shame is a hidden emotion, that desperately camouflages itself. Shame affects individuals on several levels. Christian are not immune to shame. An individual can be publicly or privately shamed. It can be done by people dear to us or complete strangers. The essence of shame has historically been with mankind from the beginning. We can trace shame back to Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve realized they were both naked.
Exposing & Evicting Shame: Shame has a purpose
Many don’t address the presence of shame. Shame leaves an open access point for the enemy to do sneak attacks. Remember it is Satan purpose is to keep us from walking in our Divine destiny. Satan job is to rob, steal and destroy. If able to convince individuals to wrongly characterize themselves, he has done his job. He robs us of our identity by allowing the perceptions of shame to be more relevant than who GOD created us to be. He steals our authority, constantly searching a false inadequate self-worth persona. A persona refusing to allow the forgiveness of past hurts. Past hurts are embraced by shame. Shame hinders growth. Hinders growth, permits destruction of our divine destiny. A destiny people spend countless years trying to undo, fix, or justify past error. A misaligned destiny causes us to miss out on what beautiful, empowering things are waiting ahead.

Many times, only one area is addressed, and shame is left intact. There is no magic pill or wand that will it away in an instant. Overcoming shame is a process which can take years. However, as we begin the journey of evicting shame, we will have small victories and wins. Shame is an entity/spirit that must not be ignored, it is damaging to our success. Waiting on GOD for Financial Breakthrough – Dealing with Shame
As Christians, GOD desires to cleanse us from shame. Hebrew 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
The scriptures tell us to be ashamed of the bad things we do, however GOD does not want us to live a life of shame but to confess our wrongdoings, sins, change our ways, and turn to Him. GOD has a plan for us it is for good and not to harm us, Jerm. 29:11. He has called us I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14. It is GOD desire that we attain our divine destiny and that we see ourselves as a light that represents Him.
The Comforter bringer of Joy. The Lord is our comforter in the time of trouble. It is time to apply the Word of GOD.
Applying :The Word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE (His Principle, His Instruction, His Empowerment)
Understanding the Word
“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.” ~ Psalm 94:19
Principle: a Comforter
Instruction: bringer of Joy
Empowerment: His ability to cause us to rise above anxiety
Today we are definitely in trying times. Who would have thought this experience would happen in our lifetime. We are trying to figure out who is to blame for all of this. Who can we trust with the information being conveyed? Overwhelming feelings are coming upon many. How do we tame these feelings of anxiety? There is no one solution to copying with this devastation.
However those who are believers of Christ or those looking for a shelter from the storm, I give & point you to the Christian Bible. Some call Him GOD or YEHOVAH, others know Him as Father, Friend, Lord. Whichever we reference His name, He wants us to know as declared in Ps94:19 He is our comforter. Our Comforter bringer of joy.
Activating the Word
Throughout the Bible, it is mentioned that trials and tribulations will come, that we do not escape even as Christians. However, those who seek and know Him, will understand His desire to be our comforter and His will is to bring us internal joy. Not joy based on material or external things but a joy that assures that no matter the situation that we were created with a purpose one that needs to be fulfilled in the earth. Realizing this helps us look beyond our circumstances and begin to seek out and fulfill that which we are divinely called and destined to fulfill. So take joy in knowing there is assignment heaven is waiting for you to fulfill.
Psalm 34:8O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Mental Health Benefits
When it comes to reading, comprehending, applying the
scripture, it never occurred to me the impact it would have on my mental
stability. Many read the bible because we
feel it pleases GOD or puts us in good standings with the LORD. The truth is GOD gave us His book so we can
have a journey that allows us to have peace of mind, confidence and trust in
Him and receive the love He has for us.
The bible is meant to transform our life for the better, removing guilt,
shame and fear. Guilt, shame, and fear are
the root foundation that causes some of us to have unstable minds, plagued with
depression and worry.
A recent study, Barna revealed that 6 out of 10 adults who
read the Bible said that it has transformed their life.
Barna Group defines a “Bible User” as an “individual who reads, listens to or prays with the Bible on their own at least 3-4 times a year, outside of a church service or church event. 61% of the “Bible users” said that each time they read scripture they realize their need for God. 50% of these people said that reading the Bible increases their desire to know God.
Mental Health Research
According to Mayo Clinical Proceedings, a majority of the nearly 350 studies of physical health and 850 studies of mental health that have used religious and spiritual variables have found that religious involvement and spirituality are associated with better health outcomes.
Our religion and spirituality can greatly impact our mental and physical health. As believers in Christ, the word of GOD aligns us with the Will of GOD for our lives. It is documented that the words associated with the bible give the rooted Christian connectedness, hope, optimism, trust and purpose which boost our mental health. Other powerful words and value systems of the bible such as compassion, forgiveness and gratefulness help empower us mentally. These words help greatly decreased stress and increased resiliency.
Mental Health Stability
When we as Christians truly see GOD as a higher power in control of our destiny it will drive us to seek, read and hear His Word daily, this is when revelations become natural and daily additives in us. Faith does not come by going to church on Sundays but by daily working and walking the word of GOD. Research shows that most who use their religion as a daily tool has a strong internal sense of control. According to Dr. Harold Koenig of Duke University contends that as people pray, and ask God for guidance, they feel a sense of control over their situation and emotions, helping them cope with depression and anxiety. As Christian we must put great emphasis on reading the bible for understanding and direction.
The Word of God Creates and Sustains Life – (John 10:10) – Our roadmap to a better life. A life in which we do not live in anxiety. Knowing we are not alone.
The Word of GOD leads us to freedom – (John 8:32) – Gives us the assurance that GOD is rooting for us. He desires the best for us. Removing confusion and fret. Living GOD Will for us that takes us from glory to glory.
The Word helps shape a positive attitude – (Romans 12:2) – Though obstacles may be all around us, knowing that GOD has given victory to those that trust in Him.
The Word helps us take control of our Feelings and Emotions. – (Proverbs 16:32) – Removing an emotional rollercoaster. The Word of the LORD is no respecter of person, He delights in giving His sons and daughters good gifts.
The Word permits us to take time out – (Psalm 91:1-2) – The LORD expects us to slow down and smell the roses, after all He made those things for us to enjoy.
The Word helps us confront our fears – (Isaiah 41:13) –The bible gives many examples of people who overcame their fears and gained abundantly in life.
The Word helps us avoid dangerous addictions – (Hebrews 4:12) – His word cautions us to the false and temporary things of this earth that eventually will cause us harm.
The Word of GOD is a support system that has you in mind – (Exodus 15:2) – His word reminds us that He will never leave or forsake those that have a heart for Him. He made everything for His good pleasure
The Word nourishes and grows your character – (Romans 5:4-6) – Instructs us how to manifest the word in our life. Going from pieces to Peace. Building endurance to victory
The word encourages you to see the big picture – (1 Peter 5:10) – Change our perspective to be more Christ-like.
We can now see that the bible is so much more than a good read, but leads us into positive character, peace of mind and a freed identity. See the bible as a book of process, progress, and prosperity. Begin to understand and apply the scriptures to daily living experience elevation. This definitely worked for me taking me from a place of insecurity to a place of not fearing to dream big.
GOD did not give us His word for just entertainment purpose or as a
good read. He gave us His word as a means in which we can achieve an expected result.
Many of us have a misconception that GOD
will for our lives will be boring and not beneficial. We must change our thinking to understand
that walking in His Word truly takes us “from pieces to Peace”. Think about when you made decision from a

temporary gratification. The next

saying to us.
Keys to Scripture Reading
There are keys to understanding scripture. These keys create a renewing of the mind, aligning us with the word and will of GOD. We will look at one such keys. Breaking down the scriptures is vital to spiritual growth. As stated in the part 1 of this series, I received the phrase “the Word of GOD is as Sweet as Pie” download from Holy Spirit, because I asked after hearing someone with their own catch phrase. The following will explain how to understand and apply scripture.
The word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE, is
about breaking down the scriptures to get clarity to GOD’s desires for a better
outcome in our daily living. This process assists us in better decision making capacity,
lessen anxiety and live purpose filled lives. This process also aids in growth
of our faith and trust in the GOD. PIE is an acronym, it stand for His (GOD)
The Principle of GOD ensure that every Christian live a
lifestyle in active pursuit to purity before GOD, and avoiding any distractions
that keep us from a relationship with Him. Christ’s death allowed us to have a
relationship with our heavenly Father. GOD
did not intend us to live separate of Him, but to be our guide. His principles reveals the very purpose of
human life, to know God, to learn to love and to serve Him faithfully. It also helps
us have a peaceful relationship with others.
GOD’s principle bring about
Cautions us to guard our tongue, actions and thoughts
from traps of the enemy
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
The principle in
Jeremiah 29:11 is GOD has a plan for each of us.
The purpose of GOD’s instruction is to guide us in every
aspect of our lives. His instructions
give us value and moral compass. It teaches what is right. In His word there are warnings against things that may seems fun and exciting
currently but the end result will bring harm, shame and guilt. The word gives strategies
to face challenges. The bible gives us
examples of others who had similar encounters/experiences. There are benefits
when we follow GOD’s instruction.
Deepens our Faith
Create a platform for miracles, signs and
Releases Authority and Dominion
Using scripture Jeremiah 29:11 the instructions
are that GOD plans to prosper and not harm us. When we follow the things of Him and obey and
do His instructions it is for our good and it is not to punish or test for pass
or fail grade.
Being empowered by
GOD scriptures take us from level to level.
Since GOD is the creator of heaven and earth and below, we must see GOD has power that nothing else can trump. As Christians, we know there are no other gods can do such wanders. As heirs, sons and daughter of the Most High GOD it is only natural to recognize that GOD desire that His children be empowered by His word. Scripture also references about the power given to us from above as stated in LUKE 24:49. Many people are inspired and empowered when there is an understanding of GOD’s Principle and followed His Instructions, this is something GOD download daily if we allow Him.
Using scripture Jeremiah 29:11 empowers to know GOD plans to give you hope and a future. GOD wants to fill us with power and authority.

Here are a few statics on our Christian living and spiritual growth as it relates to the bible. According to https://www.pewresearch.org Christianity makes up about 31% of the 7.3 billion world populations. Another study show that 4 in 10 Christians read the bible and only 1 in 4 turn to the Bible for guidance.
Psalm 34:8O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Why is the Bible so difficult to Read
There are many writing and teachings on how to read, study
and memorize the bible. People have
come up with prayer journals, study guides you name it to assist Christians on
digesting the scriptures, as stated in Deuteronomy 8:3.
If you are anything like me, I wandered how on earth do
those people who have read the bible from cover to cover get through it? Do they really understand it, or am I just
not Christian or spiritual enough. In the past my attempts of reading the bible
would put me to sleep. This went on for
years, eventually, I just gave up reading and the only scripture reading I got
was in church. I was filled with guilt and
shame because I thought I was a bad Christian or letting GOD down.
Later I was made to realize I had the wrong lenses on when
it came to scripture reading. Education
and belief systems have taught us to just get through it, being robotic about things
in life. We tend to do things out of
obligation, not genuine relationships.
So our bond to a thing is not based on adoration, or of a heart matter,
but solely from a place of requirement. This
is how many approach reading the Bible.
Many feel obligated to read the Bible. Our bible reading does not touch the heart of
GOD. He gave us the bible not to intimidate and obligate us out of fear or guilt
but for us to have a desire to know and have a relationship with Him. He has
given us commands but those all stem from His love to see us live healthier,
wiser, more balanced, and fortified lives.
Understanding the bible takes a genuine desire to have a relationship
with the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit, just as we desire genuine relationships
with one another especially our spouses and children.
Reading His Word inspires Christian living and spiritual
growth but it also aligns up for the manifestation of His promises. However promises are permitted by the giver
not the receiver. A lot of Christians try to control when and how
a promise should be materialized. We try to master over GOD, taking lordship
over the intent of the Word. When it doesn’t manifest how we want we now see
the Word as non-essential or irrelevant.
This and the next two articles, I will explain the process of attaining the Word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE.
Looking at the
numbers and chart we see that there is a great number of Christians but very
minimal have regular engagement with the scriptures and the bible.
It is imperative to
realize memorizing the scriptures is not key to understanding the scriptures. There
must be genuine relationship with the individual, the Father and Holy
Spirit. To understand scriptures moves an individual beyond self-perception
and allow the Creator to reveal His intent. Scripture understanding requires
giving up control, and allowing Holy Spirit to bring us into truth. It’s
our nature to justify our actions, thoughts and words, this create a tainted
perception, and we self-interpret the Word through beneficial reasoning and reject
it when doesn’t fit our agenda.
We do need to memorize scripture but more importantly we
must understand it. Memorizing indicates
our minds have capacity to retain information, however wisdom has the ability
to comprehend and apply the knowledge.
As Sweet as PIE
“The Word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE” was given to me by Holy Spirit. At the beginning of the month I would listen to DisciplesArise on Facebook. Regine has catch phrase the “Word of GOD is as easy as ABC”, and that is how she breaks the scriptures down. I liked that phrase and asked for my very own and bam! just like that within 10 minutes GOD started downloading “The Word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE. Explaining the PIE is an acronym standing for His Principle, Instruction and Empowerment. It gives the ability to dissect the scriptures into the three components for clarity. This process can be done with one or several scriptures. This procedure sanctions for biblical application in daily Christian walk. The most important thing is partnering with Holy Spirit for interpretation and application.
Benefits of reading the bible daily
Listed below are a few benefit to reading the bible.
GOD Will – We must be aware that there is a
general Will of GOD for all believers. However, GOD has an personalized
will(plan) as stated in Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)
It helps minimize the guess work on life’s
Open communication channels and guidance by Holy
Spirit. It strengthen and reminding
us of His promises and it gives points of reference.
Reading the bible can be a challenge, the application of the
Word can be even more of challenge, don’t give up. Be released from feeling s of guilt or shame.
Instead of frustration allow Holy Spirit to take control and begin to minister.
Have a mindset change from relying on our
ability and education to interpret scripture and permit Holy Spirit guidance. The Word and its intent has nothing to do with
our emotional feeling that is very unstable.
Partnering with Holy Spirit allows us to dissect His Word into His
