5 Steps to Overcoming Fear and Moving Forward

Fear

Fear keeps so many people stuck in a place that bothers their peace.   According to 2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.    In the times we are living now, it is important to find our place of peace.  Here are five steps that can assist you into moving forward.

5 Steps

  1. Think about the changes that will come about when you succeed. Success, like peace, has to be measured by your standards not another person’s standard.   Success should bring a sense of peace.
  2. Do something nice for someone else.  Praying for someone else’s need to put your spirit at a higher level.
  3. Think about how you will become more empowered and what it means. Empowerment takes away the fear
  4. Look to GOD as your source and you just fulfill His will.   GOD is in control allow Him to lead
  5. Visual the fear under your feet and how it will elevate you. Everything you conquer takes you a higher level.

The Relation between Essential Oils and Emotions

Breathing in odors causes signals to be immediately registered by the brain.  The brain sends a signal to the nerves, the cells, the muscles, and the emotions.  We will demonstrate this by playing a  memory jogger game. Try to remember the last time you were by an open sewer or ran across a skunk that left its scent, or even a dead caucus. What were your reactions, once you realized the smell was not pleasing at all?

  1. You probably tensed up your face or body
  2. An immediately a need to hold  your breath
  3. Feelings of  your blood getting warmer and your body more tensed, and experiencing a  faster heartbeat
  4. The longer the smell lingered the more you became agitated
  5. You longed for the ability to breathe freely again
  6. The gradual progression of the above steps caused an emotion to form, one probably on the negative side, like stress. Feelings of wanting to flee

Let us look at another scenario. Remember your favorite dish, or the scent of someone you love, or being in a room with a pleasant aroma.  Again, what were your reactions to the sense of smell that was pleasing to the brain?

  1. It probably caused you to smile
  2. A sense of longing, a pleasant desire
  3. It might cause a steady breathing pattern
  4. The more breaths you took in the more relaxed you felt
  5. Emotions are formed joy, happiness, warmth, gladness. Positive feeling is released
  6. This pleasing aroma causes the brain to either create a new memory or resurface an old memory that stimulated the body to have a sense of peace and security.

Too Much Stress is not Good

Small levels of stress can be beneficial.  Minimal stress levels can cause decisions to be made. It can cause an action to be taken for a more desirable outcome. Low stress can be a positive challenge.   Too much stress can make life to be unbalanced, sick, and depressed.   Stress indicates something not right.  When stress is ignored, there can be damage to you emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Combat Stress

Stress has definitely plagued this century.   Stress has been around since the fall in the Garden of Eden.  Adam & Eve suffered through stress.  There could probably be a great debate on which era experienced more stress.   Generations prior did not have the medicines we have today.  Ancient day therapists, counselors were probably not as knowledgable as we are today.  They had to utilize “primitive” ways to combat stress.  I say “primitive” because modern science associates many natural things as “primitive”.  We may call them primitive but I believe they had a longer life span that we do with all our advancement.

Let me stay on track.  In Ancient days, people learned to live off the land, utilizing things available from nature.  GOD has given them and us, flowers, tree barks, and leaves, seeds, shrubbery, for medicinal purposes and other uses.   Even in this century we still use flowers, tree barks but in a more adultered way.  We use them in the forms of essential oils and herbs.  Modern essential oils come in varying grades.   These grades range from the purity of the oil to the adulterated oil.  The Essential Oils can be found in medicine and uses ranging from cosmetic to household products.

Natural Remedy

Essential Oils date back to the biblical-era as the significant forms of medicine, healing, and beauty regiments. Definition of breakthrough–  warfare: an offensive military assault that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line, an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle, a sudden advance especially in knowledge or technique.

Definition of blessing – special favor, mercy, or benefit; a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness.

The Frustration

If you are like me you have been unsuccessfully praying for financial blessing for years.  We get spurts of increase in the money we normally have. However within a month or even that week we are having to ask for another blessing.   That seemed to be the cycle of our life.   Why can we not receive a blessing that would take us into a life of abundance? I desire a life of not having to pinch pennies.

As we look at the above definition of a blessing it refers to a gift bestowed by GOD thereby bringing happiness.  Why can we not have happiness in our finances? After all there were many people in the bible who obtained godly wealth: Joseph, Moses, Abraham, Solomon, the woman with the oil, the proverbs 31 woman, just to name a few.  I’m sure you know people who have received blessings that change their life or their position in life?  What makes them different from us. 

My Current state

To let you know my current situation.  A believer without a place to call my own I had to live with someone,  I had to give up my transportation, and I was unemployed, and no form of income.  Countless times I had declared 2 Corinthians 9:8, in Psalm 23:5.  The Word talks about GOD preparing a table before us in the presence of our enemies. I believed those scriptures but I didn’t understand why it was not manifesting for me.

It was mid -May of this year, after crying out to the LORD once again, when I finally listened and heard His response. GOD response to me was,  the blessings are already available.   I sought GOD for clarification. He informed me what I first needed was a financial breakthrough.    Financial Breakthrough and Financial blessing, I thought were the same.  I had to look up the definition of a breakthrough.  The definition of breakthrough states it is an act or instance of moving through or beyond an obstacle.  The Father explained there were obstacles that I needed to address in order for the blessings to manifest.

I learned these obstacles permitted the enemy to win a temporary stay in a case against me.  Surprisingly enough it was not the enemy sole doing but it was the unintentional permission I had granted to the enemy.  This allowed my financial blessings placed on lockdown.  

 

The Change

At this point, I had changed focus,  I had to be aligned with what GOD was showing me about the obstacles.  I had to be willing to go through  His process to receive His promises.   We can’t operate in GOD based on traditions but we must be willing and patient to hear from Him.  I inquired what obstacles He was referring to.

His response to me was your actions, words, and thoughts are the evidence that the enemy has brought before the courts.  He has won a temporary withholding on your financial blessings. This is the part where we stop praying for what we want. Its time to pray for understanding in the things  GOD is trying to improve, move, or change us. 

What Started it All

Let me back up a bit, I was upset and angry that my current financial situation had not changed for close to two years now.  So I decided to recorded playlist videos.  Videos called Waiting on GOD for a Financial Breakthrough, I wasn’t wanting a breakthrough I was wanting a blessing. To be honest I did these videos to test GOD, to force Him to change my financial situation. 

After the first video of the group, I heard GOD say, Shame, Bola you walk in shame.  It puzzled me.  GOD explained walking in shame in not walking in who He has called us to be, this makes me off alignment.   I began to understand that was one piece of evidence used against me.  It was time for me to allow GOD to deliver me and heal me from shame. By the way, shame is found in  Genesis in the garden when Adam & Eve hid and covered up. 

As we were working out shame in me, it was revealed about poverty mindset, pride & insecurity were some of the other obstacles that I needed deliverance and healing.  My prayers changed. From prayers asking for blessings to asking GOD to reveal the areas in my life that needed to be broken and changed.

Understanding Breakthrough

Breakthrough strives to reject things designed to keep from walking in the fullness of who you are in GOD.  GOD desire that we maintain, and prosper in His gifts/blessings.  He has called us blessed to be a blessing.  How can we be true blessings to others when we walk in doubt, fear, and lack?

Now I realize what the enemy was using to make me experience disappointment and pain.  GOD is using this time to strengthen me, to empower me, and speak with boldness.  What GOD gives us He doesn’t want the enemy to easily snatch away.  

The breakthrough must come first so that His blessing can flow abundantly.   Someone who continuously gets a flow of blessings, normally there was a season of breakthrough they underwent.    I am willing, are you willing to go through the financial breakthrough process. Do want to get a flow of blessings or to have sporadic blessings!

The Outcome!

In this process, GOD downloaded a product called  Financial Breakthrough Prayer Cards He had me created. These cards address some of the behaviors that keep us from financial blessings.  GOD is in the blessing business but are we ready to receive and stand for Him. Is what you are desiring aligned with His will to advance His Kingdom and give Him glory.

Meltdown in the Middle of COVID-19 Virus

A meltdown is a reaction to feeling overwhelmed, trying to process too much sensory input all at once. This differs from temper tantrums defined as disruptive behaviors or emotional outbursts that involve physical acts or screaming.  Meltdowns are indications you are not aligned with your core. You are off-center and balance. You are at the point of feeling out of control.

According to the oxford dictionary, control is defined as the power to influence or direct people’s behavior or the course of events.   Many circumstances in life remind us that control does not belong to us.  What belongs to us is the ability to align and balance our core.

  1. Acknowledge your stress due to this epidemic
  2. Understand people process stress differently – don’t compare yourself or anyone else
  3. Begin to journal your thoughts – encourage your children to do the same
  4. Try to keep yourself occupied with activities
  5. Realize you are not alone
  6. As Christians GOD is not trying to make us prove our faith to Him, He already knows our faith level.
  7. Begin to realign and center yourself back to your core

Acknowledging Stress

Try not to prolong the state of stress because It is a human instinct to have feelings of stress.  Hiding or denying feelings of stress can cause serious effects on the body.  Stress can alter blood pressure,  breathing speeds up, the digestive system slows down, immune actives decrease, tense muscles, less sleep.  All these have an impact on the health of the body.  Acknowledging stress gives the ability to identify stress influencers.

  1. Place limits – Though being informed is vital, but do not be consumed with minute by minute reporting if it is not mandated.
  2. Body Talk – pay attention to the signal the body is relaying. It is important to remain in the healthiest condition.
  3. Don’t ignore feelings – disregarding the emotions can lead to poor decisions and reactions to situations. Ignoring can also lead to illnesses such as depression.
  4. Talk to someone with a better outlook on this situation.
  5. Seek professional help – Religious leaders, counselors, etc

Different Stress Tolerance

We are all wired differently.  Some of these differences include:  Some have a high tolerance level; others may have a more precise decision-making mechanism; while others have more empathy for a situation; others still have such an acute sense of the “bigger picture”.  Comparing stress level benefits no one, everyone has their area of weakness and strengths. Remember everyone has their tolerance level. Fretting about this can cause extra stress.

Journaling

Writing your thoughts on paper helps clear the mind and allows for an analysis of thoughts. It allows for problem-solving and not focus on the problem.   Journaling help declutter the mind and emotions.

Occupy Time

Find activities that are joyous and keep from focusing on the issue. Family time, reading a good book,  complete that project, just to name a few.  Get to know yourself and your family more.

Not Alone

A worldwide pandemic, many people are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as you.  You are not alone.  Think of ways to unite ourselves over the internet or phone.   Don’t feel it is a problem that can be solved alone.  Be thankful for what is available and things of others who have less.

Is GOD testing you

I feel that GOD  is not asking us to prove our faith or trust in Him. Ignoring the government warnings and precautions only put more at risk. We put our trust in Him that He will see us through as His words declare “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV).

Soul Searching

Evaluate your life, your time, & your perception. Begin to put things in the correct perspective that gives you inner peace.

The Comforter bringer of Joy. The Lord is our comforter in the time of trouble. It is time to apply the Word of GOD. 

Applying  :The Word of GOD is as Sweet as PIE (His Principle, His Instruction, His Empowerment)

Understanding the Word

“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”Psalm 94:19

Principle:              a Comforter

Instruction:          bringer of  Joy

Empowerment:   His ability to cause us to rise above anxiety

Today we are definitely in trying times.  Who would have thought this experience would happen in our lifetime.   We are trying to figure out who is to blame for all of this.  Who can we trust with the information being conveyed?   Overwhelming feelings are coming upon many.  How do we tame these feelings of anxiety?  There is no one solution to copying with this devastation.

However those who are believers of Christ or those looking for a shelter from the storm, I give & point you to the Christian Bible. Some call Him GOD or YEHOVAH, others know Him as Father, Friend, Lord.  Whichever we reference His name, He wants us to know as declared in Ps94:19  He is our comforter. Our Comforter bringer of joy.

 

Activating the Word

Throughout the Bible, it is mentioned that trials and tribulations will come, that we do not escape even as  Christians. However, those who seek and know Him, will understand  His desire to be our comforter and His will is to bring us internal joy. Not joy based on material or external things but a joy that assures that no matter the situation that we were created with a purpose one that needs to be fulfilled in the earth. Realizing this helps us look beyond our circumstances and begin to seek out and fulfill that which we are divinely called and destined to fulfill.   So take joy in knowing there is assignment heaven is waiting for you to fulfill.
